Ancestry has been running a special $79 Ancestry DNA Holiday Sale, this is an exceptional price and you should jump on this now! Normally the price runs about $99 so this is a nice $20 savings. If you’ve ever wanted to take a DNA test or have one of your family members test then it’s also a perfect Christmas gift.
I’ve tested on both Family Tree DNA and Ancestry so I’m not just doing some affiliate marketing job here. I’m an actual customer and think that Ancestry’s product is far superior because it directly links its results to your family tree page and the family tree pages of those you match.
There are so many neat things to discover including your “DNA Story,” “DNA Matches,” and “DNA Circles.” You can even refer someone you know and get a $10 gift card, although $10 off your subscription bill would be better!
The only caveat I would say is that you might have to wait a bit longer to get your results than the normal 8-10 week waiting period. Given the fact that it’s a special and that it’s the Holiday season I’m sure there will be a huge influx of orders which will inevitably delay when the results can be delivered. I experienced this last year when I ordered a kit in December and did not receive my results until mid February.
Despite that, Ancestry’s $79 DNA Holiday Sale is something to consider getting now at such a great price.
You can even give someone a gift of a discounted membership. The person you gift would receive 20% their initial subscription to Ancestry for their first round of billing only; it would then return to its full price after that. You can find this page by logging into your Ancestry page (subscription account needed), going to the “Extras” tab, and then selecting “Gift Subscriptions.”
