2 Things to Effectively Manage Your Life and Well-Being
I have to admit the title is a bit of hyperbole! However, I am doing nothing less than stating the facts in this article. Like everything on NOW-Power I am speaking from my own experience, giving my own ‘testimony,’ if you will, about how I have achieved success. Besides, how exciting is life without a little zip, zeal, and zing!?!
So what are the BEST and WORST things for your health?
The WORST thing is STRESS! In my experience, the worst thing you can do for your health and wealth is to stress out! The saying is so true: “stress kills!” That phrase is not just something that is fun to spout out at parties or while giving advice (it’s good advice, btw), it is also based in scientific fact.
Stress does several things. First, it can create a horribly negative self-image. Second, it can engross you in a cloud of bad thoughts and emotions that can grow into an impenetrable wall. Third, it can affect your judgment on even the simplest of life’s decisions, cascading into unwanted realms of despair and even substance abuse. Fourth, stress can emaciate the body by releasing this mystically evil, and somewhat misunderstood substance called cortisol.

Stress and the physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges that can arise because of it, are really a test of one’s character! From my own experience, there have been times that too much stress has practically destroyed me; more recently, however, I’ve learned to overcome it! I’ve learned to eradicate it, look for its indicators and squash it! I’ve invented my own counter-measures to avoid stress and burnout! I’ve shared a few right here on NOW-Power!
Now, one can make the case that there are far worse things out there than stress. For example, one might say that chronic lymphocytic leukemia is worse than stress; however, that ailment is very specific, whereas stress is a universal and thereby more applicable to our general human condition. Stress can be a general contributing factor to many specific diseases.
The BEST thing is WALKING! That’s right, the very simple things are often the best. I believe God designed it that way! Walking is an immediate, easy thing to do to stay healthy; it involves breathing, blood flow, and walking stimulates the brain! Walking gets you thinking, it spurs your thoughts into a contemplative mode, for me at least. Don’t be fooled into reasoning that “well, if I’m walking, then running should be even better!” NO, NO, NO! Just get out and go for a walk, take your partner with you, take your dog with you (they’ll love you for it) and get some fresh air.
Do you know why soccer (football) is the most popular sport in the world? Because all you need is a ball! It sounds silly but it’s true, it’s so basically simple anyone can participate. It IS the ‘beautiful game.’ Walking is the same. There are hardly barriers to entry, all you need are your feet – barring any preventative health conditions, of course.
I have to thank my dog for my health and fitness over the last 7 years. He is featured in the picture above for this article, and where I was dangerously overstressed and living a very fast-paced life, he helped me come back into balance. Just taking him out twice a day for walks and eventually hikes and beach adventures kicked my butt back into shape. I am lucky because I have always been physically fit and active so getting back into shape wasn’t too excruciating; however, the simple act of walking is something that I still do everyday! The Law of Attraction is amazing!
Finally, walking has increased my potential to accrue wealth! That connection between walking and the mind has allowed me to THINK critically about who I am, what my career path is, and how I have taken back control over my own ability to attract wealth. There is a deep, Universal connection between physical activity and the inspiration of the mind. A quantum channel opens up between our thoughts and our reality via the principles of the Law of Attraction and can be harnessed in a heightened state through the simple act of walking. Life is motion, life is momentum; walking is motion and momentum. It is so effective because it is so primal, deep in the recesses of our DNA and subconscious; walking represents evolution, change, and movement toward a better future.
