This new technique called Meditate in Motion is about the connection between mind, body, and soul. At its essence it is about combining mental motion with physical and emotional motion, while at the same time attracting abundance because of the intersection of the three eMotions (motions): mental, physical, and emotional.

While quiet meditation and prayer is still a good thing and has its place in our daily routine, Meditating in Motion is even more handy because we can utilize it at any time while we are working, driving, walking, playing, cooking, etc. In essence, any activity – the “law of act-traction!” Its utility value is much more far-reaching and impactful on our lives than mere still meditation. While we may only meditate or pray for 10 minutes a day, we are constantly moving a huge percentage of the rest of our day. We can capitalize on this time by keeping our thoughts centered on our goals and the abundance we would manifest by harnessing our motions and turning them into eMotions.

I think about the story of Enoch, who is one of my favourite Biblical characters. His life was so special to us because he is one of the very few people in the Bible that was spared death and the end time: Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away (Genesis 5:24). Enoch’s life was filled day to day with constant communion with God, ever focusing on His will.

What if we could be in constant communication with what we want to achieve in everything we do. It’s not quite the same as what Enoch did (Enoch was focusing exclusively on God’s will); however, the harmony of mind, body, and soul for a single purpose is very powerful. It is powerful only when we are trying to build something larger than ourselves, something that is equivalent of a legacy. When we are giving ourselves so that others may benefit in a larger arena, that is powerful. Abundance will be a by-product of that adventure.

Here are SIX tools and techniques to try to harness your mind, body, and soul power to Meditate in Motion!

Focused Thought
I find my mind to be at its peak level of stimulation when I am active, not when I’m sitting on the couch being lazy. Although I do have amazing insights right when I lay down to bed but that’s just all the day’s residue releasing itself, like squeezing the remaining water out of a sponge! Stay focused on your goal of starting a business, making that job connection, finding the extra income to go on that vacation, whatever it is. Keep putting in the mental work to figure out the puzzle!

Physical Energy => Mental Energy
Your physical activity, even if it’s typing or gardening, increases your body’s metabolism, which, in turn, includes your cerebral activity. Staying healthy and including a fitness routine into your daily or weekly activities is also a great way to stay mentally active. The more you can build your mental muscles, the better of a problem solver you will be. Physical energy creates mental energy!

Your Demeanor
The way you carry yourself speaks volumes about who you are. Your demeanor not only impresses upon others a million non-verbal facts about who you are, it also has an effect on you. You believe in who you are because of the way you carry yourself. Dress like a bum and you’ll act like one. Keep slouching and your work will be slouchy. Stand tall and you will act larger than life. These aren’t mere affectations and fake emotions; these are genuine outcomes. Don’t be brash, rude, and unseemly all because you stand up tall! Confidence is a result of being grounded, intelligent, and humble. What you see being billed on television as ‘confidence’ is actually ignorance. When people brag, talk big, and lie unceasingly, that is not confidence! That is ignorance! Know the difference.

Be There Now
The day that you answer all the questions about how you got to be where you want to be when you have achieved your goals, be there now! Imagine yourself in an interview after you have made it, picture yourself calmly and energetically answering questions about the path you took to reach your current (future) state of abundance. In this role, visualize yourself there now. How does it feel? What are you wearing? What is your tone of voice? Where is the interview? How amazing does it feel to tell your story and inspire others? Be in that moment NOW.

Call Upon God
Ask God to bless your goals. Ask God to bless the actions that lead to your goals being fulfilled. God will make the universe respond to your needs, if He so desires. I cannot speak for God, though! Your prayers are between you and Him. Call upon God while engaging in your actions, ask Him to make your legacy a reality. Pray while you work or are active, it’s a perfect time to elevate and commune.

Rest, Rinse, Repeat
Like the instructions on a shampoo bottle: “rinse, repeat.” 🙂 Make sure you have some down time, rest your thoughts between activities and if you so choose, meditate in motion while you do your next activity. You don’t have to force yourself to meditate in motion on each and every thing you do, you should use some common sense; but do make sure to push yourself a bit every day. For example, if you were focusing (meditating in motion) from the time you got up and made coffee, went to work, walked the dog and now have to go and pick up the kids; by all means, enjoy your time with your kids and don’t drown their needs out! That’s common sense.

What you’ll actually find is that this process will give you strength when you most need it. Say your picking up your kids but are tired and a bit overwhelmed, well, I’ve found that calling upon my “demeanor” and picturing myself as my future-successful present actually gives me strength! These techniques build strength of character.

This is the law of ACT-traction. It’s not simply sitting around and thinking about being successful but infusing that key ingredient: action. ACT-traction is the combination of action and attraction! Abundance will be by-product of you hard work.
