All this fuss about tearing down our Civil War statues and monuments initially got me into a rage. The more I thought about it, however, the more I realized it’s all MEANINGLESS! Don’t let these acts of illegal historicide get you down, here’s how you can act now.

There are those out there who would just love to desecrate OUR history by the removal of objects. If you think about it, it’s so petty it’s ridiculous; like a bunch of whiny children throwing a tantrum to get their way. It’s absolutely laughable. Don’t buy into it!

They’re statues! They can be replaced!

Let me tell you something else, they WILL be replaced. Maybe not today, but they will definitely be replaced with better ones. Again, they’re just statues. Don’t let seeing them being torn down make you feel like you’re losing a battle you can’t control. That’s exactly what these babbling morons want you to feel, so don’t let them!

What do you do when you lose your favorite coffee mug? Well, you go out and get a new one.

Here’s how you can act now. You can act now by realizing that our history is not just in these symbols but in the actual HISTORY those symbols represent. Don’t let the statues do the work for you, YOU need to be engaging and learning everything you can about US Colonial and Civil War history.

Read a book, read a blog like this. Go out and find resources that talk about who these people are that are symbolized by these statues. Great leaders like General Robert E. Lee or Jefferson Davis or Abraham Lincoln. Anyone, everyone.

The history of our country rests in the intellect and integrity of its citizens. Statues and obelisks are the symbolic embodiments of the acts of great men and women. Don’t simply revere the symbol, revere the stories!

If these subhuman scum want to tear down statues, that’s their business. They will be replaced, and in the end these mindless crazies will eat their words. If there is any lesson that history teaches us, it’s the fact that the tables always turn and ‘every dog has its day.’

The history and stories of our Civil War will persist because we will actively keep them alive.
