I've often felt very alone in my pursuit of genealogy. As an adopted child I didn't know my genealogy, therefore it was something that others had and I didn't.

I feel quite incredulous at times that we place music and sports personalities on a pedestal, while not even recognizing the superhuman traits and stories of our ancestors! Nothing wrong with respecting great people, but also take the time to know and appreciate your own family history.
